I took advantage last night when I was in Brampton last night visiting my Dad and I got gas for 120.6. I had to drive up into north Brampton to get the good deal I drove an extra 24 kms to get the 8 cents savings.

by the time you figure out how much you save on a tank of gas sometimes it just isn't worth it. Then again, the psychological value is something else.

Remember that leather commercial, "It's worth the drive to Acton?" Substitute "Brampton" for Acton!!!

680 News says no change for Tuesday. TGPT is still posting Friday's prices so we have to wait for them to bless 680's prices!

But I get some points at Esso, that later used for car wash. Pioneer also has some reward program, but I don't use it.

Just filled up at Hurontario&Bovaird Esso for 119.6 a litre! Not sure if they are selling below cost, but it's definitely good for me!

Prices stayed at $ 128.9 as predicted several days ago by TGPT. sadly, its not the independents who can drive the price down in Brampton, its the major brands and big box stores who have a whole crocery store or can use refinery products to sell gasoline below cost in Brampton. I note that TGPT even has a price prediction for North Brampton and even North Vaughan as their prices are always lower with only the retail margin accounting for the price difference.

There must still be some independent gasoline retailers in Brampton. Once big oil forces them out of business with predatory pricing (price wars) then Brampton will be paying inflated prices like Toronto & Mississauga.

In the short term, though, it's good news. Remember when Toronto had the nightly price wars 10 years ago? Prices would go up in the morning then decline as much as 10 ¢/L by evening. I miss those days. I also miss all the mom & pop stations that disappeared during that time :-(

How else can you explain 121.9 in neighboring Brampton?

**** TGPT.CA Friends – Barring an unforeseen international incident or mischief by petroleum companies, HOLD OFF on buying gasoline UNTIL WEDNESDAY SEPT 3 as we are expecting a SIGNIFICANT DROP IN PUMP PRICES … continue to check in here for the latest as the drop could save you $3-4 dollars on a fill up ! ****

It did not happen Wednesday and it's surely not saving us $3-4 today... tomorrow we go up again... so it was a storm in a glass.

TGPT says a 2 cent drop for Thursday.

Crispy: With all due respect to you, I believe you misread the article. It said the world benchmark for gasoline has dropped 6.6 cents since last Friday. There is no indication of such a drop for Friday. Best regards, tramguy

As indicated by our 2-3 and 4 day predictions, gas prices will FALL overnight for Thursday Sept 4.

TGPT.CA Friends – Holdback by Canadian petroleum companies means that despite a drop in the world benchmark for gasoline, down 6.6 cents a litre since Friday Aug 29, Canadian s will on see a small part of that passed onto them.

I just returned from a week in mid-Illinois on business that I drove. I was amazed by the number of pick up trucks on the highways and the speed at which every one was driving. I remained in the right lane at the limit which is mostly 70 mph and was literally passed by almost every other car on the road.
So to Hondalovers point, gas guzzlers, high speed equals poor mileage.

Half a loaf??? Kind of moldy and stale...

You can talk and complain forever but you WILL continue to drive your gas guzzlers and V6.

How many of you downsized from V6 to I4 in past 3 years or replaced old clunker wasting 15 liters/100Km with 6 liter/100Km car?

On the same page, for TPGT, it says an increase for Sunday, noted at 1:21 Friday afternoon. So they give us half a loaf, which is better than no loaf at all!
