Hi tramguy, I just noticed the same prediction a moment ago... I was hoping for a small decrease before the new increase... but hey, Friday is still far away, the predictions are changing many times... same as the weather reports...

Biff I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the Europeans. I lived through the 70's gas crunch and the resultant start to the decrease in car sizes and the resultant increase in mpg. I was in Europe in 1980 and was stunned at the number of small vehicles. The vast majority were very small and the large cars were owned by.....you guessed it...North Americans, usually service men. Smaller vehicles are typically more gas efficient if only because they are smaller.

Boy i missed all that back and forth on the carbon tax. I take it that solar activity, clouds and the reality that scientists cannot conclude beyond doubt that the increase in carbon is man made and that it is leading to global warming. I agree there is more carbon, but that some will swear to their death that it is leading to the planetary warm up is a bit of a stretch. Nevertheless, renewables are increasing their reach. Governments should be involved in taxing fossils fuels as a means of making renewables look more palatable. High taxes on fuel in the 1970's didn't cause Europeans to be more efficient. Oil is a cheaper reality and alternatives will stand on their own merits once they can equal the price and utility of fossil fuels. We dont need Granny Wynn or Trudeau imposing this questionable tax.....

Miron: I am a responsible person when it comes to saving the planet, 3 R's, enthusiastic supporter of Earth Day Wednesday April 22nd, etc. The $1.2 billion that is raised from this cap and trade won't be used for ecological purposes but to pay down debt resulting from terrible decisions made by the current provincial government. Please read the attached article which summarizes my opinion on the larger topic and ponder the other side of the story.

http://www.aproundtable.org/tps30info/globalwarmup.html

Have a good day, Miron.

PS My email to the mods contributed to computer users able to gain points through videos. There is still an uneven playing field as smart phone users are able to get more than 2,625 points daily.

--warming is NOT a fraud... average temperatures are up. Polar ice
is melting.... the major storms we've had all over are increasing (caused by large temperature differences in different areas...) Have you seen the film of the Atlantic waves splashing over the top of the sea wall in Miami ?-- That has never happened before except in say a hurricane but its crossing the dike regularly now. You have no explanation to say that the rising water & seawall problem is not global warming.

check this:

Ahhhh... they say that we are just balancing the budget: revenue generated on petroleum fuels alone could very well exceed $1.2 billion annually...

No celebrating here! Another tax grab that will fill the pockets of those who least need it. Global warming, climate change, a big fraud that's made many rich! Too bad we can't cap and trade the politicians and proponents of this sham!

TGPT FRIENDS:

WITH ONTARIO joining Quebec and California in a Cap- In -Trade pricing regime, Ontario motorists should prepare for a hefty and permanent price hike at the pumps, as targeted refiners will simply pass on the cost of purchasing carbon credits. If Ontario follows Quebec on pricing credits , known as “Allowances” based on the Carbon Compliance Spot Ranges (carbon market), look to a minimum 3.8 cent a litre increase for gasoline, a 5.4 cent a litre increase for diesel and furnace oil and a 2.8 cent a litre increase for other heating essentials like propane and natural gas (or its equivalent per mbtu). Even electricity rates, which unlike Quebec’s are entirely based on non emitting hydro power, are likely to see a jump with the decommissioning of some nuclear generators and their replacement by carbon emitting natural gas . If Ontario follows Quebec’s model, revenue generated on petroleum fuels alone could very well exceed $1.2 billion annually.

GAS PRICES to REMAIN UNCHANGED overnight for Wednesday April 15.

Report Card on One Week Sneak PeekThis week prices are going down Sunday April 12, 2015

The probability of this price trend is: 80%

Despite spike in gas prices due to move by North eastern US and Canadian refineries to summer blended gasoline, increasing production and lower oil will lead to a modest decrease for the week ending Sunday April 12

April 5th - gas price 104.9

April 12th - gas price 105.9

So much for one week predictions!

TGPT's long term forecasts last Sunday (posted Saturday Apr 4) called for lower gas prices by Sunday April 1. Looks like they got that one right. Just heard McTeague on radio say gasoline will fall down 5 cents Friday in Toronto to $102.9 ..... Beauty!

Good to be back Tramguy. was on a work related contract in the UK since November.

It's not the no-name ones only, it is the brand name stations and as I said, not just on weekends. It isn't worth driving out here to get gas for sure.

I was talking about what I noticed here on the website, I do not live in Brampton. Mostly lower prices are at 'no name' gas stations which I never use as I already have 7 cents discount at Petro. Only during the weekend I noticed the big names giving discounts.
