Hard for me to decide, because it's really one long book in seven chapters. I focus on the character development, which I like. JKR's not afraid, as Nightbeamer said, to let the characters be who they are, and to let happen what happens. Harry can be a jerk - good Lord, he's a teen under terrible stress. Harry's revered father James was a jerk when he was a teen too, and it was good for Harry to see the repercussions from that affecting his own life. You got to see characters from other characters' perspectives, and you got to see how they all ticked. Her best work, I think, was with Severus Snape. Incredibly deep character.

I liked the first one because it led to the second which led to the third...

I loved the whole series of books. The books are much better then the movies. But that is always the case.

I think the Goblet of Fire may be my favorite, just because of its length. I also really love the Deathly Hallows, but just the fact that it bring the whole series to an end is a downer in my opinion, which puts it into second place. The entire collection of Harry Potters is amazing.

I was glad to get to "Deathly Hallows," because I was so anxious to find out how it all turned out. But when re-reading them, I always enjoy "Prisoner of Azkaban" because for a brief time Harry gets Sirius for a parental figure.

I liked "Order of the Phoenix" and "Half-Blood Prince" the best. I think it took some guts for Rowling to whack off popular characters while at the same time making her hero such a jerk. (I wanted to slap Harry at few times during "Phoenix.")

What's going on with Harry nowadays? Seems like he's pretty much died out.
