Thanks for the surge arrestor info, $100 isn't bad, I wonder if they're good forever or one spark kills it? How much work is it to install, I imagine it must go ahead of the main breaker? I should get an electrician, are you for hire?

Hi ILuvOT, how much do you think a whole-house surge protector, installed at the service panel would cost? With all the fancy electronics in nearly every appliance these days, I wonder if it's worth it?
