lets get better mileage from our cars so the demand for crude drops, which drops gas prices.

I always try to avoid buying gas anywhere near Chicago, or avoid it altogether since it's now a war zone

Can we refine some of that 'oil stock' into gasoline and lower the price a bit? Then we would all have something to be thankful for.

Prices at the pump should drop at the same rate that inventories rise.
Of course, we could all drive less, and force the prices down, too.

Can we stop confusing INTENDED restrictions in amt of refining as a STANDARD practice by pig-oil industry to maintain higher gas prices EVEN while the actual purchases continue the drop in buying since 11/2007?!?!

More manipulation when they say prices are dropping but.....anything they want to put into the blank to keep the prices higher.

I just want to point out that only 5 out of the last 20 post against this article are of any length. Since I was just warned for my post being too short and just trying to collect points I thought it appropriate to look at other writers. A forum is for reading and if desired responding to. May agree or not may be long winded or short. What is an acceptable level if response should be up to each of us for our own input. As for myself I tend to read the shorter post. Most of the time they say as much but in a lot less words. Sorry for going off subject but this one is either old or a slight rewrite as it reads just like an article seen over and over again.

"U.S. refineries exported 2.77 million barrels per day of oil and products."
That should help keep gas prices high!

Reg prices are the lowest here that they've been in 19 months and, as of today, are still dropping as various independents engage in "gas wars" to try to keep volume up at the expense of Chevron, mostly. ChevronTexaco, always the "high priced retailer," is now starting to crumble, too. What's causing the drop? That huge "refinery spike" in CA drove prices through the roof (over $5/gal in most places), and brainless drivers finally got a wake-up call. Driving mileage is down significantly and speeds on freeways have dropped almost 20 MPH average, per the CHP. Sometimes you need to shock dumb people to make them think.
