The new station offered a lower price initially but it has now increased its price. The older station had to more or less match the price of the new station.

Congress also must approve drilling in the U.S. and the building of new refineries... this will increase the value of our dollar and increase supply, which could drop the price of gasoline $1.00 to $1.75 per gallon. If we don't act now it won't matter if gas is $6.00 per gallon.... you will be more worried about where to buy it not how much it costs
