lots of predictions, but I'd like to see real data first. Esp. with an additional $11k price tag.

GM Starts Making CNG Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra - bi fuel, gasoline or CNG and combined range of 650 miles. Upgrade costs $11,000 – after market cost $2k to $3k with plenty of profit for the installer. GM big truck mentality, it seems nothing ever changes at GM. As more and more vehicles are built to use natural gas OR converted over to natural gas, more natural gas will be used and the price will go up, just like the morning sun. Don't expect natural gas to stay low for very long, the trend for all fuel prices is always up and up! It does Not matter if you have to heat your house with it either, higher natural gas prices coming. An article on here said that less natural gas is being produced because there is NO profit to keep drilling and producing natural gas when the prices are low. Less CNG Supply, Higher NatGas prices! Big Oil and Big Gas exports fuel and natural gas to other countries that will pay more for it, much more than here. There will be NO price reduction or cheaper prices for natural gas IN the US, so it does NOT matter how much crude oil or natural gas is produced. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the 'jobs' are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down. People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

It would be nice if these bifuel ¾ ton pickups sell well enough to convince GM and Ford to expand the bifuel concept to their crew cab offerings in addition to the extended cab coming out this model year. A ¾ ton bifuel 4x4 crew cab pickup with a 6.5 foot bed would be of great interest to us. The 650 mile range is a big plus as well.
If you are interested in seeing if any CNG stations are near you, check out the website below and click on the fuel pump icon to see a national map of where there are public CNG fueling stations currently.

Yes, you can buy about 3500 gallons of gas and drive about 92,000 miles for $11K, for some this will not work and some it may work...

The reason it costs $11,000 is that the parts are made from recycled materials: ground up government toilet seats and melted down military hammers.

Interesting article however I must also ask, where would you fill the vehicle? I have yet to see one of these filling stations.

Just as a thought... If $11,000 is added to the cost of a gasoline truck. How far must you drive before you can recover the cost? This doesn't sound cost efficient.

Honda sells a CNG Civic, no conversion required. Starting price is $26,305.
Purchase a 2012 Civic Natural Gas at participating Honda dealers[1] from October 4, 2012, to January 2, 2013, and receive a $3,000 fuel credit for use at Clean Energy stations[2], America's largest owner of public compressed natural gas (CNG) stations.

$11,000 that is some sticker shock! Wow!!
Does the fact that Ford and Ram(Chrysler) make CNG trucks as well... will the competition lead to lower costs... in the near future?
