Here is Another reason That Oil Prices will Be Down in The Future:

The recent drop in violence across Iraq has increased the prospects of Baghdad doubling its oil output by 2012 by allowing foreign investors to bring the most advanced production techniques to the war-torn country.

Iraq was at the forefront of world-wide oil production until the Ba'athist regime nationalised the industry in the 1970s. Although Saddam Hussein made deals with French, Russian and Chinese oil companies in the 1990's, United Nations sanctions barred the country's re-emergence as a leading source of energy supplies.

Representatives of 35 companies have been given six months to apply for a 20-year right to operate oil fields that hold up to 40 per cent of the country's 115 billion barrels of proven reserves.

Retailers don't have much say in where the price goes. (up or down)

As usual, still lagging here in Idaho. The retailers (yes, I said RETAILERS), are dragging their feet on lowering prices.

Saw $2.67 a gallon for 87 octane last night. Same station this morning was $2.89. Still the cheapest gas in metro Atlanta, where the average is $3.11 a gallon.

Best around here is $3.27 for regular 87 octane, and same price for #2 diesel...

Still, we need to KICK THE OIL ADDICTION and find viable alternatives, especially for transportation...

I very much doubt that we will ever see the prices of a year ago. Too much greed.

It is down to $2.71 here. Hopefully it will keep going down, back to 2006 levels at least.
