Gasoline prices soon to hit low point for 2012

Wall Street Journal -- Gas prices will soon drop to their lowest level of the year.

By Monday, the national average should fall below the $3.28 a gallon that drivers paid on Jan. 1, according to analysts. The drop is a gift for those hitting the road during what is expected to be the busiest Christmas travel season in six years.

Still, it's more like a stocking stuffer. That's because for the second straight year, Americans will spend a record amount on gasoline. The government estimates that gas averaged $3.63 a gallon this year, 10 cents above the record set a year ago.

Drivers can only hope that forecasts for lower prices next year come true.

NO - say it isn't so! Lower fuel prices for the economy to recover that much faster than what 'coming out of the closet' Sneeky will ever do for this country. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population at large and the job numbers continue to be down! There is one ARCO gas station here at $2.99/gal and may many more fuel prices follow to much more reasonable levels! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon, $3, $3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

All of which were manufactured reasons by the oil companies to keep the price high. Were they investigated? NO! The attempts by the Justice Department are blocked by Republican Senators.
